Nancy obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1987. She is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, (Elder Law, Estate Planning, and Probate sections), National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), Academy of Special Needs Planners (ASNP) and the Madison County Bar Association. Nancy has received a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating of AV Preeminent from her fellow lawyers. She is also a Master of the American Inn of Court, Jackson, Tennessee chapter, a legal mentoring organization dedicated to achieving higher levels of excellence and furthering the practice of law with dignity and integrity. Nancy is a frequent speaker on the subject of Estate Planning and Probate and Elder Law to senior adults and other select groups as well as business and financial professionals.
Nancy makes her clients feel comfortable by offering a personal analysis of their individual situation and goals. She is able to create documents to meet the personal needs of the client in a timely manner. Clients often express appreciation in Mrs. Choate’s ability to explain legal terms in “plain English” and to offer legal advice on complicated issues in a clear understandable manner. Nancy and her husband of thirty-five years, Curtis, are active members of Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee where they enjoy singing in the choir. Curtis, a recently retired teacher, now serves as office manager for the law firm. They have two children, Anna, a graduate of Union University who now lives in Louisville, Kentucky, and Will, a graduate of Union University and currently a graduate student at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee. Curtis and Nancy enjoy traveling with their children and supporting the performing arts.

Michael Parham, Of Counsel
Mike obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1989 and his Master of Laws in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law in 2000.
He is a member of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and the Tennessee Bar Association, where he Vice-Chair of the Estate Planning and Probate Section. Mike is certified as a Specialist in Estate Planning by the Tennessee Board of Continuing Legal Education and has a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating of AV Preeminent. He is certified as a Specialist in Estate Planning and is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. In addition to being licensed in the state of Tennessee, Mike is also licensed to practice law in the states of Arkansas and Mississippi.
Mike’s practice is generally limited to estate planning, charitable planning, probate and trust administration, non-profit corporations, and small business succession planning.
He formerly served as Director of Planned Giving for Freed-Hardeman University and Senior Vice-President and Trust Officer at Poplar Trust in Piperton, Tennessee.

Mike, his wife, Ilinda, and their two sons, Jackson and Josh, are members of the Germantown Church of Christ where he serves as a deacon. Mike works with the prison ministry at the Whiteville correctional facility. Mike and Ilinda enjoy spending time with their sons and University of Memphis athletics.
Jessica Bell Pruett, Of Counsel
Jessi obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2002 where she had a Concentration in Business Transactions. She is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association where she is part of the Elder Law, Estate Planning, and Probate sections. Jessi is also a member of both the Madison County Bar Association and the Gibson County Bar Association. She started her career with a big law firm in Jackson, Tennessee but after a battle with a rare form of Stage 3 breast cancer at the age of 28 she decided to dedicate more time to her family and left the big law firm life behind. She focused on her family until Nancy drew her out of her sabbatical.
Jessi and her family reside in Medina, Tennessee where she is active in the local community as well as West Tennessee. Her community involvement includes:
• Co-Founder & President of Rack Pack, Inc., a 501(c)(3) breast cancer survivor support group serving West Tennessee.
• Board Member of Women Rock for the Cure, a Nashville based 501(c)(3) organization connecting and supporting breast cancer patients.
• American Cancer Society, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer – past committee member
• Gibson County Adult Leadership Program
• Sunday School teacher at Campbell Street Church of Christ
• Volunteer at Medina Elementary School
Jessi and her husband, Eddie, are active members of Campbell Street Church of Christ in Jackson, Tennessee where they are both teachers in the children’s ministry. They have two boys, Alex and Clay, who are active in a variety of sports including football, soccer, basketball, and baseball. During the various sports seasons, the Pruett family can be found in one athletic venue or another on any given day.
